What is a Base Mini App?
Base Mini Apps are lightweight web applications that run inside the Base mobile app, providing:
- Instant Access: No app store downloads or separate installations
- Seamless Wallet: Your Base wallet is automatically connected
- Social Context: Access to your Farcaster profile and identity
- Native Experience: Feels like part of the Base app, not a web page
- One-Tap Sharing: Share with friends directly in Farcaster
Base Mini Apps combine the reach of web apps with the convenience of native mobile apps, distributed through the Base ecosystem instead of traditional app stores.
How to Access Metalos
From the Base App
Open Base App
Launch the Base mobile app on your iOS or Android device.
Don't have Base? Download from:
Navigate to Mini Apps
Tap the Mini Apps tab or Browse section in the Base app.
Find Metalos
Search for "Metalos" or browse the Finance category.
You'll see the Metalos card with:
- Logo and name
- "DeFi Yield Automation" tagline
- Quick description
Launch
Tap the Metalos card to launch the mini app instantly.
The app loads directly within Base—no browser popup or external navigation.
From Farcaster
Metalos can also be shared and launched from Farcaster frames:
- See a Metalos post in your Farcaster feed
- Tap the embedded preview card
- Opens directly in Base app (if installed)
- Or opens in web browser (if Base not installed)

Privacy & Security
Your Data
- Farcaster Profile: Read-only access to your public Farcaster profile (username, display name, profile picture)
- Verified Address: Uses your publicly verified Ethereum address from Farcaster
- No Additional Permissions: Metalos doesn't request access to contacts, camera, or other phone features
- Same Security: Uses the same smart contracts and security as the web version
What's Shared
When you use Metalos as a Base Mini App:
✅ Accessible to Metalos:
- Your Farcaster username and display name (public data)
- Your verified Ethereum address (public on Farcaster)
- Your profile picture URL (public data)
❌ NOT Accessible:
- Your private Farcaster messages
- Your phone contacts
- Your device photos or files
- Any other apps or data
All data access is standard public Farcaster profile information. Metalos cannot access anything private on your phone or in your Farcaster account.

How It Works
- SDK Integration: Metalos uses
@farcaster/miniapp-sdk to integrate with Base
- Manifest: A manifest file at

Troubleshooting
Metalos won't load in Base app
Try these steps:
- Make sure you have the latest version of Base app
- Close and reopen the Base app
- Check your internet connection
- Try opening metalos.xyz in a regular browser to confirm the service is up
If still having issues, contact support.
My profile picture isn't showing
Possible reasons:
- Your Farcaster profile doesn't have a profile picture set
- Your Farcaster account isn't connected to Base app
- Profile data is still loading (wait a few seconds)
To fix:
- Add a profile picture in Farcaster
- Reconnect your Farcaster account in Base app settings
Wallet not automatically connected
Possible reasons:
- No Ethereum address verified on your Farcaster account
- Base app doesn't have wallet permissions
To fix:
- Verify an Ethereum address on Farcaster
- Grant wallet permissions to Base app in phone settings
- Or manually connect wallet using the wallet button
Features missing compared to website
All features available on the website are also available in the Base Mini App. If something seems missing:
- Scroll down to see more content (mobile screen is smaller)
- Check the menu/navigation for additional sections
- Try refreshing the app (pull down on the screen)
App is slow or laggy
Try these steps:
- Close other apps to free up phone memory
- Check for Base app updates
- Restart your phone
- Try the website version to compare performance
If the website is fast but Base Mini App is slow, report it to Base app support.
